MTBR KIDS

teaching the basics of riding a bike safely, and making it fun! 

Kids are never too young to hit the trails. Let us help them get the hang of it with our custom designed program catering to the littlest of shredders! Best suited for ages 7-11, we provide instruction on core skills essential to enjoying a lifetime of progressive riding.

Join us on Saturday mornings. Classes beginning at 9am!

WEEK1- BIKE SAFETY(1.5hrs)

Becoming an excellent MTBR Kid means starting with the basics. It's important to learn what it takes to be successful on the trails and beyond, and that begins with being safe! (*Every session includes a bike adjustment and fitting session with each new/growing MTBR Kid)

  • Basic Maneuverability
  • Bike Mechanics
  • Riding Form
  • Road/Trail Safety

WEEK 2- BODY MECHANICS & BIKE CONTROL(1.5hrs)

For this one we head from the shop to one of our favorite flat trails in Chino Hills. MTBR Kids begin to explore the terrain while learning valuable body mechanics to enhance riding. (*Every session includes a bike adjustment and fitting session with each new/growing MTBR Kid)

WEEK 3-HITTING THE TRAILS(1.5hrs)

By now, our MTBR Kids are ready to give a small mountain try. This week, they'll experience the ups and downs of mountain-biking, learn how to overcome obstacles an experience more of the natural beauty in their local community. (*Every session includes a bike adjustment and fitting session with each new/growing MTBR Kid)

Location: Empire Bikes (back lot)- Chino Hills, CA

WEEK 4-adventure ride(2hrs)

Parents and MTBR Kids will meet us at the Chino Hills State Park for the last ride of this series. Our little riders are ready for an adventure now. Riders will use their new skills on the gentle terrain of the lower end of Chino Hills State Park. 

After our ride, we will stop to have lunch and celebrate the success of our MTBR Kids. Students receive a pin and sticker for graduation!

Important Information

Beginner riders must be comfortable riding a two-wheel bike without training wheels and use hand brakes with confidence.

Helmet, gloves, knee and elbow pads are required, as well as your child’s suitable mountain bike.

Bikes must have front and rear hand brakes(no coaster brakes). No training wheels or balance bikes.

Rental bikes and equipment are available upon reservation.
